Classes, Treatments, Consultations and Workshops

Treatments can be done in Lismore at the Birth House on Tuesdays, or other days by appointment.

*Aware Parenting Consultations:

Learn tips and techniques based on the Aware Parenting approach (Based on the works of Aletha Solter’s books… I highly recommend you read  The Aware Baby).  Tailered to the needs of you, your family and your child, I recommend how to apply healthy communication techniques, such as letting your baby cry or child tantrum or laughter,  use loving limits rather than punishment & reward. I learned first-hand how to get better sleep for my kids (& myself!), how to heal from my own emotional childhood hurts, along with better communication skills for us all. face-to-face or through Skype.

Aware Parenting Consultations are $60/hour

*Aware Parenting Workshops & Mums Circles: (offered at various points throughout the year)

Give yourself a chance to relax and heal while learning techniques for building healthy communication and release. Firstly, understanding that challenging behaviour is caused by painful feelings and how to help your children release their pent-up emotions in a healthy way.  Please see the Aware Parenting section of this website for more info on Aware Parenting or contact me directly.

Yoga and massage have a profound impact on calming babies and mums, whether inside or outside the womb, it’s never too early to start . I am so honoured to be offering yoga to you mums and mums-to-be. We create a peaceful environment at the Lismore Birth House.  It is a space for presence and connection, slowing down, stretching and relaxing.  Let’s choose healthy habits to contribute to our well-being and our family’s. It’s so wonderful to connect with other like-minded pregnant women and mums.

$20/class or $50 for 3 classes

*Ayurvedic full body relaxation massage (abhyanga): an ancient therapeutic and rhythmical massage using herbal oil and long strokes to stimulate arterial and lymph circulation,  deeply nurturing, rebalancing and relaxing massage, calms the nervous system and soothes the soul. It allows the body to find it’s natural healing mechanism for balance and health.

*Ayurvedic pregnancy massage & post-partum massage:

Pregnancy massage is deeply nurturing, gentle and a soothing massage for mum-to-be and for the baby in the belly.  The massage is done on a mat on the floor.  The massage not only allows for a nurturing touch to soothe the changing body but also a chance to connect in with your baby.

For post-natal massage, I strongly recommend a gentle postpartum massage within the first 42 days after giving birth to deeply heal after birthing.  Ofcourse at any point on your motherhood journey, massage is beneficial.  When you give to yourself, you also give to your family.

Ayurvedic massages are $80/hr  or  $110/1.5 hrs.

“Mums & bubs yoga helps my baby sleep better. I’m currently in the middles of one of these classes and cannot recommend them more! Very nurturing and with a yummy, healthy snack and chat afterwards.”  -Cat
Laura’s massage was the best one I’ve ever had and doing yoga with her was the best decision I have made for myself and my baby during my pregnancy. It definitely contributed to my healing labour after a difficult one the first time around.-Shantele
“My 8 month old baby boy and I attended Laura’s yoga classes at The Birth House, Lismore for 3 consecutive Thursdays. We really enjoyed our time in Laura’s space. It was so inviting, warm and nurturing. Mums and Bubs are welcome to do anything necessary to meet the needs of bub throughout the duration of the class and the class is easily adapted for accommodating any eventuality with respect and understanding.  Laura had me mesmerised at her ability to yoga so effortlessly whilst being in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy with her 2nd child, it is a testament to her professionalism and passion for yoga for Mums and Babies. Directly after practicing yoga it was always so homely and comforting to share a cup of tea and homemade goodies that were a beautiful touch.  It really does take a village to raise a child and it is nice to build your village with Laura, she’s such a beautiful and genuine person. I will miss my Thursday sessions with her and so will you once you have shared that space with her.”  -Melanie
“Laura is a calm and smiley yoga instructor and so relatable as a fellow mum. I love how she creates a welcoming space that is truly relaxing for mamas and inclusive of our babies. We have made wonderful friends in the yoga class and it is often the highlight of our week.” Thank you Laura xx  -Vanessa
